Nuclear Cardiology
Simultaneous acquisition of 99mTc-MIBI and 18F-FDG
Short axis and composite SPECT images using 10 mCi 18F-FDG / 25 mCi 99mTc-MIBI to assess myocardial viability in a 54 year-old male, previously suspected of having an inferior myocardial infarct. Previously 201T1 study interpreted as a fixed inferior wall defect. 18F-FDG uptake indicates viable inferior wall myocardium.
Nuclear Oncology
Simultaneous acquisition of 99mTc-MIBI and 18F-FDG
58 year-old female with lung cancer. 10 mCi 18F-FDG injected and imaged using UHE collimators. The study revealed the primary lesion (20 mm) with metastasis to the mediastinum and superclavicular nodes. The coronal images have been processed using a ML-EM iterative reconstruction algorithm. The lesions were confirmed with CT, MRI, and biopsy. Note the lack of 99mTc-MIBI uptake in the lesions revealed by the corresponding 18F-FDG images.

The addition of an Isocam Imaging System to a lab provides an excellent way to confirm the results of other machines or provides all results only one scan.
